A book of text scores for data visualisers. Edition of 10 hand-typewritten and hand-bound postcard books, each containing 31 rhetorical instructions for graphs. As a whole, the book attempts to grapple with the cognitive dissonance, hypocrisies, and double binds of living in the current crises. Numbered edition (plus two artist proofs) typed on 100% recycled cardstock, bound with PVA, Japanese paper and bookcloth. No digital edition, no pdf, no citation metrics, no impact. The title is taken from Kim Stanley Robinson’s novel Forty Signs of Rain, with thanks.
